With the hope of winning the contract to be the Artist for The Murder Channel's book cover design, Dayton's  high school art students have submitted art work in the Design A Book Cover Contest! Come check it out and vote.

Lunch usually isn't an option at Gold Canyon, but for this event a special "short menu" is being offered. So come check out this venue full of Gold Rush history, have lunch, check out the artwork and cast your vote.

Oh, and did I forget to mention? Visit with local authors and choose a book or two for MOM! Be sure to get them autographed with a personal note.

Currently, seven local authors have signed up to be there! One author is researching Dayton history for her next book, so if you know some, be sure to come by and talk to Arlene.

Non-fiction, historical catagories, Romance in Nevada, children's books and murder mysteries will be there, so come take a look!

The Murder Channel is off to the Finished Manuscript Critique group for April's "book in the hot seat"! Yeah!  The contest to design TMC's book cover is in full swing! April 3 is the general Art show where I can a first look at possible winners.

The TMC award isn't a shoe in, but there will be other awards. A Pre-Mother's Day event is planned to display finalists and choose the winners. Hope you can drop by to cast a vote for your favorite, bring the family and have lunch in Historic Dayton, be sure to visit your local authors and pick up a volume or two!  More details to follow soon!

          Mono County summers are full of tourists arriving for fun and frolic, but this July, was different. Mayhem in the Sierra’s has the sheriff’s department struggling to cope.
